Touchstones Workshop: September 9-13, 2026
WINGS of FANCY
Learn to shape and build sculptural forms with fabric, fiber, and stitch with Linda Facci
This is a textile sculpture workshop focused on building form, structure, and surface using fabric, fiber, wire, and stitch. The butterfly is simply our starting point.

You’ll explore layering, hand-stitching, and internal structure to create dimension and movement in textile work, developing techniques you can carry into your own practice long after the workshop ends.
No fancy supplies are needed, just curiosity and a willingness to explore. Working with simple stitches, reclaimed fabrics, and wire, you’ll build a richly textured form that reflects your own sense of color and composition.
We’ll begin with a large-scale drawing (of a winged insect or a flower), translating it onto fabric and building a wire structure directly into the piece. From there, you’ll layer and stitch fabric into form, watching the surface develop gradually through a series of intuitive, hands-on steps.
Along the way, essential embroidery stitches will be introduced and used to add detail, texture, and definition. As the work comes together, you’ll assemble the final form and bring the piece fully to life.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a finished piece and a deeper understanding of how to work in textile form, along with new ideas you can continue to explore in your own way.
Class and Retreat Fee: $1090.00
Materials fee: $25 (to be paid at the start of class)
All high-quality materials are provided, but students are greatly encouraged to bring a small selection of old clothing or scrap fabrics to share, adding personal history and unique texture to each sculpture.
Linda Facci is the founder and creative force behind Facci Designs, a fiber art studio rooted in curiosity, craftsmanship, and storytelling. Based in Woodstock, NY, Linda is a graphic designer by training and a maker by nature. Her work spans needle felting, branch weaving, large-scale fiber sculpture, embroidery, and jewelry, transforming simple and reclaimed materials into expressive, tactile works of art.
Inspired by nature, nostalgia, and the joy of making by hand, Linda’s distinctive style blends traditional techniques with playful experimentation. Her dedication to her craft and willingness to explore new directions have earned her a loyal following within the fiber arts community. After recently returning to her childhood love of embroidery and jewelry, Linda continues to evolve her practice—creating pieces that feel both whimsical and deeply intentional.
Through Facci Designs, Linda invites viewers and collectors alike to slow down, look closely, and reconnect with the beauty of handmade work.
