FIBER COLLEGE: Touchstones Retreat September 9-13, 2026

Come spend five days making, eating well, and learning in small groups. You go home with new skills, a finished piece (or more), and a handful of people you’ll actually stay in touch with.

We won’t simply follow a path; we'll coddiwomple.

That is to say, we'll wander with intention, curiosity, and purpose.  In rural Maine, we still follow the rhythm of the tides, the daylight, the ancient trees, and our gardens.

"Warmest and heartfelt thanks for the wonderful art experience.  As a fellow textile artist, I appreciate the unexpected touches and natural beauty of your campus.  There's art everywhere you turn! I can't wait to come back! " Anne from MA

A Touchstone Retreat takes you on a journey of connection, discovery and accomplishment. Like a pebble in your pocket, the experience and the possibilities will stay with you long after you leave. We do hope you will join us!

Touchstone Retreat Schedule

Over five days, you’ll move between studios, shoreline, and gardens.  We give you permission to follow your curiosity and learn from each other. While you stroll, we invite you to reach down and pick a touchstone for your pocket.

Our cobbled beaches are a delight for your senses.  Rocks ground us with their solidity and remind us to pay attention to textures, curves and temperature while we feel their weight in our hands. We invite you to start your retreat by walking down to the beach, breathing the salty air and searching for the stone that speaks to you.
