Learn the embroidery stitches that will make your quilting and mending sing.  Learn on a table topper or pincushion and then transfer your skills to mindful mending and clothing embellishment. Emma will teach both beginners and advanced students the fundamentals of applique and ornamental needle work.

Braided Wool Chair Pad or Table Topper

Judy learned how to braid in a class at Fiber College and since made multiple projects. She is intrigued by the various color combinations and how each created a unique finished product. Judith will be showing students how to produce a rug braided chair seat or table topper. Students can learn to measure, cut, roll, braid, spiral, sew and secure their piece.

I am a Maine knitter who has been knitting since the age of 9 and considers all knitting wearable art.
I have designed a one skein pair of anklet socks using a washable merino wool.  This is not a beginner project as you will be using 4 double pointed needles, knitting from the cuff down,  turning the heel as well as knitting a cable down the front. It is a quick knit and makes a wonderful gift either to yourself or , a special person in your life

Fiber Preparation & Spinning

With more than 20 years of knowledge, Betsy will demonstrate how to prepare fiber for spinning or felting with flick cards, hand cards, hand combs, a drum carder, blending board and hackle and will discuss which tools are needed to create fiber for specific types of yarn. She will have spinning wheels and drop spindles available for participants to get a taste of spinning yarn, and answer questions for beginner spinners who wish to learn additional techniques and try different fibers. Students may bring their own fiber or purchase some for a nominal fee.

Hand Stitched Greeting Cards

Learn the art of paper Embroidery.  Lynn will take you through the card making prick and stitch paper embroidery process step by step.  Once you learn this lovely, portable craft you'll be free to make your own greeting cards and wall pieces.  If you love geometry and the beauty of intersecting lines, this is a project that will satisfy your creative itch.
